One cannot help but feel the energy!
Charlottesville is a special place – as one client put it, who picked it from her short list choices for a place to create a new life: “It’s as if Charlottesville is in its own bubble” - so perceptive!
Surrounded by mountains, easy access to Washington DC, and the ocean, we have the most temperate weather on this landmass, including the four seasons. What a perfect place to be!
Twenty five years ago, I came here to live, from London. My family, in England, observed ‘You seem to have found a wonderful place’ - they were right. I knew then it was a great place to raise a child, and that has only become more so. We thought we’d stay for about five years, but as I say to clients “Beware! No-one ever leaves!” And if they do, most come back!
During these twenty five years, this city has grown, and grown, in every positive way: The University, the Historic Downtown Mall with all its outdoor restaurants, street entertainment and gathering places, first class Medical Centers, amazing schools, theater, sports, culture, music, skiing, development, the population …… all adding to our enjoyed ‘richness’.
The housing market does not seem to be enduring such difficult times as the rest of the United States. In 2008 it is slower than it’s been during the latter ‘frenzied’ years; and the market we have now is more manageable and gives everyone time to make a good and well thought-out decision.
Charlottesville is a truly fun place to be. If you’re here already, I know you’ll agree. If it’s on your short list, please come and find out for yourself.
